DisappointedWas so looking forward to this kettle being featured in my kitchen. Had to return once and get a new one and will have to do so again. The kettle left a plastic/ chemical taste in cups of tea, coffee and even on veg that we put boiling water in the pan. We were assured that the one we got must have been faulty and this is not normally the case, but having to return again. WOULD NOT ADVISE TO BUY!!!!!

Loving my new shiney kettleIt comes to the boil fast, but I feel it could turn off quicker once it gets to the boil. You can always flick the little iluminated switch to turn it off. The body of the kettle is nice shiney stainless steel, but beware the outside does get hot to touch. So if you have young childern who may try to touch the outside of the kettle, pick a plastic one. It pours well and its easy to fill with the fip-up lid.

Awful SmellDespite the negative reviews I read about the smell of this kettle, I bought it anyway thinking that if I boiled it a few times, the smell would propably go away. WRONG. The boiled water had a very strong metallic/chemical taste to it. Even after washing it and boiling full kettle after full kettle to try and get rid of the smell, it just wouldn't go away. My tea tasted of a digusting chemical brew (imagine drinking swimming pool water with a tea bag) and you'll get the idea. I have returned it.

Disgusting tangHaving previously bought a Breville kettle, I am very disappointed with this one and wil lbe returning it. I was very careful and boiled it several times, discarding the water each time before actually using water for a drink. We are now 3 weeks in and it still has a disgusting tang. You cant use any water left in the kettle again because that tastes even worse. Will be returning it this weekend and not buying one similar.

rubbishRubbish brought this as a replacement for a Breville that was spilling boiling water every where. 1 week after buying this brand new kettle it did the same thing as my old one boiling water coming spurting out of it I,ve have since seen that its a lid problem and the kettle is pushing the lid off. I have now taken it back and got another kettle not a Breville after being a loyal customer for many years I have now given up on them

Unhappy Customer from
Breville are cutting corners!I bought a new Breville to replace an identical one. The reason I bought another was because when we bought the first, the cable from the power base was the only one in the shop that reached the power sockets in our kitchen. So when it failed, it made so much sense to buy another. Guess what? When we got it home, Breville had made some manufacturing savings and the cable is now a good 7 inches shorter and doesn't reach the socket! Please remember, not everybody has sockets built into the work surface. Won't buy another Breville if I have to move the socket. Why should I when I can get better for cheaper in another brand?

Not what I expectedThe kettle was great looking as per image BUT it has that metallic taste and smell (like cleaning fluid) and we cannot shift it, tried bicarb and now have to use fresh cold water for each boil and that works but any re-heating brings back that uhhh taste and smell.
Not good as this was the more expensive kettle!!!
