Rated 1 out of 5 by boogieman from Breville standards dropped The worst toaster we have ever owned, from now on I will only buy one that I can physically handle befpore purchase, I expected Breville to produce a decent, robust bit of kit, wrong, it's light, flimsy, only suitable for small pieces of bread, toasting is uneven, the second slices get burnt on one side, thin bread can fall down the side and get stuck, nuff said, new toaster needed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Andy from Inefficient toaster needs to be replaced I bought this toaster when my old one broke but it is so frustrating to use that I shall have to replace it. Some normally shaped slices end up with an untoasted strip as it has not fitted within the toasting area. Even more importantly it is very difficult to lock the switch into the toasting position and takes probably an average of ten tries to achieve one success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Susie from Excellent toaster A great little toaster that toasts bread, bagels and crumpets equally well. I've read peoples reviews saying that the toaster slots will not toast a whole slice of sliced bread. It takes a standard sliced loaf like Kingsmill and Hovis without a problem. Just put the slices in landscape as opposed to portrait.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rafa from 3/4 of the bread As what the title says, the slots only accommodate 3/4 of the size of a common sized bread. It's also obvious that the toasting area is quite small which is easy to see by just looking at the browned or toasted area of the bread. I tried to turn the bread upside down but didn't really make any difference. Also, by doing this, it makes it inefficient. Really disappointed. It's a shame as it looks really smart.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DuggleBB from Disappointing Performance For an ELECTRONIC as against an an ELECTRIC toaster it is very inconsistent in the level of browning you get, sometimes it's warm bread, sometimes dark brown. It doesn't actually toast all the slice (50/50, Tesco's Wholemeal) but only about 3/4 of the slice, being as tall as it is I'd hoped for all the slice. Also you get the usual ' browner on one side than the other ' problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lulu2 from Looks great but poor performer Loved the sleek styling, colours and outer finish of this toaster, with great features and well placed control, but unfortunately the most important part fails miserably as only 50% of the heating elements operate leaving vast uncooked patches. This is not a one off incident either as have tried two different ones and both fail on performance. Really disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Racerman from Normal sized bread slices won't fit in. Normal sized slices when put in square side down stick out the top. Won't go in on their edge side because the slots are not long enough. Won't get another one of these if I should need to replace it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lolly from hmmm so so OK for price, but if you can, pay a little extra for something a bit more decent and robust. The slices slots are fairly small and the bread seems to toast more on one side than the other, no matter what I do. There's a bagel button but I'm wondering how I'm going to FIT a bagel in it, unless I sit on it! The push down button is pretty cheap, I always seem to end up slamming it down and it threatens to snap off at any minute. It looks nice and if you just need a cheap one, it's ok.
