A lot better than the last modelHad the previous model ..which i had to return twice .
Not alot of manufactures do fat fryers with the filter which keeps the smell of cooking down. on hence i choose this on and its silver matches my kitchen :0) .
This model is alot better than the last one , the print on the front doesnt smudge like it did on the last .
The basket seems small on this one , but you can do enough chips for 4 people .
Happys Days its matches the rest of my kitchen and it doesnt stink the house out of cooking fat cant stand the smell of cooking fat .
I wish more manufactures would do silver ones and with cooking filter on ..but hey ho they dont .

Quality PoorHad this to replace one that broke, on new one lid do not fit properly and quality is cheap and poor design,
This said its better than the other 3-4 we have tried and TOOK BACK - some were double the price, sadly there dont seem to be very good ones about even if you pay more than double so settled for this one as about the best and it works unlike others...
Rather have the old metal moulinex we had for 15-18 years but those days are gone now with plastic and ' PROGRESS'

Great ValueThis fryer does everything I want from it. It cooks chips, fish and chicken very well.
I read the reviews before purchase. One guy mentioned that steam escaped. So it does (it has to go somewhere), but there is very little difference with a boiling kettle or a simmering saucepan. The steam does not feel 'greasy'.
The basket is a little small for a family, but as there are only the two of us, this does not present a problem.
Overall this is a great little fryer and excellent value for the money.

does it's job quite wellpretty good all round fryer
Temp for chips needs to be 10' lower than stated.
I have cooked all sorts: fish, chips, apple-banana-kiwi fritters, Camembert cheese in batter and all turned out tasty. To save the food taking on loads of fat i part cook fish in batter, sausages and fish fingers in the microwave first and use the fryer to crisp them up.
You can see through window, it will mist a bit as you put the lid down, you just got to let the condensation clear it.
Filter is pants but at least it narrows the steam to a small area, just put it near ventilation.
Took me a while to get used to the handle properly, I thought you had to move the slidebutton to lift it up but you just got to flick it.
I would consider buying another if I had to get one.
makes enough chips for 2 adults in one go, as there is 3 of us I part cook the first lot, fully cook the second lot, then finish off the partly cooked ones, that way we get to sit down together. When on my own I cook the fish and chips together.
I store the fryer on the worktop and leave the fat in it. cover the vent with a t towel to minimise smells and dust.
Cleans well, if the basket gets bitty, soak in hot water and it practically cleans itself.
not yet had to use the condensation collector box, it stays dry.
Some condensation from the lid when it's lifted but not enough to worry about.

Quick and efficientWe bought this fryer to replace our old, more expensive Breville one, which was no longer heating up. This one isn't digital like the previous one, but that wasn't a good enough feature to warrant the extra cost. This fryer heats up very quickly and make lovely crisp chips. The only downside is that the bowl cannot be removed for washing and no part of it is dishwasher-proof.

Smaller than it appearsI returned this product the day after buying it without using it. As soon as I had the fryer out of the box, it became apparent that it is smaller than I thought. It claims to have a 1kg food capacity, that may well be the case, but I suspect it would only be with a very dense food. With something like chips, you're probably looking at more like 0.4kg (at a guess). I would not recommend this product unless it is for a use by no more than 2 people & if for 2, not if you like large portions.

great compact fryer with filterI wanted fryer with filter, as I was fed up with the smell of oil after using the old fryer. No more smells! The basket is a bit on the small side for 4 people, but the chips, onion rings etc turn out great and the heating element is concealed. Just a shame that the filter is not mentioned in the description. It took me a while to find out in my research that the Breville has a filter.
