Happy with this toasterIt's years since I had a sandwich toaster so decided to buy this deep fill one and am very happy with it. It is slightly deeper than the normal toasters. The sections for the bread are still not really large enough for the average sliced bread, but if you only make one sandwich then it's ok to lay the bread across the 2 sectors. It's great that the trays can come out for washing. Yes the filling does still leak, but at least the trays are easy to clean. I bought mine in Sainsbury's when they had a special offer.

DisappointedMy sister and I got given this toastie maker last Christmas, we were so happy with it as it reminded us of our late grandparent. Unfortunately we only managed a few sandwiches from it as something burnt out and it tripped our electric. We gave it back to our auntie who had purchased it and she took it back, all the way back to exeter I’m sure she said. So round two we had another toastie maker, this one lasted a little longer almost a year but then unfortunately the same happened again. Totally gutted as we thought it was a good product with the removable plates.

Good toaster to add to kitchenI brought this toaster from Breville having brought the same one a year earlier. I have had to replace the first one, as it would appear I had slightly overloaded my 2 sandwiches I was making, and in closing the lid the handle cracked to the right and left but enabling me to close it and complete the sandwich making. Definitely the deepest filler machine around, however users should heed the overload, as even though the handles are stronger than most, they still have a weakness to be careful of.

Poor toasterMy uncle bought this sandwich maker a few months ago and hated it so he gave it to me. All I can say is that I disagree with all the comments.. what a load of rubbish and effort. First of all all the crusts need to be cut off, what a waste. I filled mine with cheese and mushrooms, certainly not over filled. Might have well not bothered putting anything on because there was hardly anything left inside, as for a deep filled I wouldnt go that far. As for the mess the thing makes this was unbelievable. The cleanup afterwards in my opinion not worth it. I have had better in the past and wont be using this one again.

RubbishI purchased this sandwich toaster 2 days ago (unfortunately).
I am disgusted with it. I've tried several ways, I did everything I was advised to do. I bought supermarkets own brand medium sliced bread. I left a 2cm gap around the edge.
The filling still oozed out, all over the toaster. The plates come out for easy cleaning, but it goes all over the actual toaster, it's an absolute nightmare to clean.
IT CERTAINLY ISN'T A DEEP FILL.
I WOULD URGE PEOPLE WHO ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING A SANDWICH MAKER. NOT TO PURCHASE THIS ONE.
I JUST ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE THIS PRODUCT.

Disappointing but it does the jobI bought this to replace an old broken sandwich maker, because it was described as Deep Fill. I was pleased that the sandwich filling did not leak out but I was disappointed that it wasnt as deep as advertised. I could not close and lock the handle, as the instructions tell you to, because the hinge on the back isnt high enough. I couldn’t get the bread brown (see photo) no matter how long I left the sandwich in the machine and the temperature kept dropping while in use. The bread (Warburtons toastie) hangs out the sides (see photo). But having said that, I don’t suppose there is anything better on the market. It is a shame Breville and Warburtons don’t get together to design the perfect sandwich toaster, one that fits their bread.

Just the right sizeThis is my 2nd Breville sandwich toster I love the removable plates much better. I use kingsmill thick bread in mine and place the flat edges next to the center cut line and the rest hanges out side the toster. With a good amount of filling in place I find my toastis come out perfect and cleane cut and the over hang of the bread is sealed and I use it to lift the sandwich out. Dont know why others are having so much trouble ? I will say dont use thin sandwich bread or to much filling or your bread may tare. Hope this helps. xx

18 months and tripping electricityBought this 18 months ago, used 4 times. Now trips the electricity supply. Have bought budget ones which lasted for years. Wouldn't bother with this product
