So easy to keep clean
This sandwich maker is great. The hot plates are flat and the top plate automatically height adjusts which allows you to use pretty much any kind of bread product for your sandwiches from doorstops to flatbreads!
Being flat also makes the non-stick plates very easy to wipe clean using a damp cloth. There is a small lip around the edge of the bottom plate, so if you're tempted to overfill your sandwich (and who isn't) the contents don't leak out onto the counter.

Brevilles blown
I have purchased a number of these as
I love them for my coffee shops, they are quick to heat and extremely easy to clean.
However, I bought 2 in April from Argos and last week one set on fire and the other one was about to but we managed to catch it.
Where the light is it melted the cover to the wires.
I have used these for a few years and never had an issue but my 2 last week have blown.

It makes perfectly good toasted sandwiches/panini .
Only down side I wished it had ridges on the top plate, for the chargrilled effect.
Far better than the previous model I had bought which just made the bread warm.

Nightmare to clean
Great product concept and on the the whole works well. However it is a nightmare to clean if you cook anything other than sandwiches. I often use it as a griddle and cook eggs, bacon, halloumi, meatballs etc. If only it had removable plates this would make cleaning much easier. The lock is also faulty as it is on the wrong way round. When you stand the product up to store it in order to lock you have to slide the lock upwards and unfortunately gravity takes over and unlocks it.
Good product but could be even better issues addressed.

I purchased a Breville 4 slice sandwich maker & pannini maker , it is fabulous !!
The different sandwiches I have made is unbelievable. Weather you use bread , pannini's or wraps it takes no longer than a few minutes to make a good meal .
I have also cooked bacon, gammon , chicken and allsorts of things in the sandwich maker .

Perfect
We are lovers of Paninis and toasted sandwiches so did our homework to get a maker. Whilst there are quiet a few around, it quickly became clear that size and ease of use were the two key attributes to be considered. We opted for the Breville 4 slice as that was big enough to toast two Paninis simultaneously and two standard loaf sandwiches simultaneously. We were also swayed by the heating plates being fixed so no crumbs could get behind making it easy to clean with a wipe. We purchased it direct from Breville and it arrived next day with a text giving us an hour time slot for delivery. Having now used it several times, it is perfect for our needs and we are delighted with it. Would only advise anyone buying the smaller makers to be aware that these will probably only make one Panini or toasted sandwich at a time although the smaller size may make it easier to store but with the handle folding flat and lockable together wth a cable tidy, we found it easy to store standing up on its back edge.

Brought this as a replacement for one that had broken. I am so pleased with this, it does normal toasted sandwiches as well as panini.
