Recreate Your Favourite Disney Park Snacks at Home

Disney Land

If the pandemic has scuppered you and your family's plans to go to Disneyland this summer, then that means missing out on the delicious food that's on offer at their parks around the world. Although their parks may be temporarily closed, don't fret! You can still recreate some of the magic in the kitchen and make your own versions of their classic snacks yourself.

So, while you may have missed out on the amazing experience of going to Disneyland with your loved ones, we've come up with a collection of recipes that you and your family can have fun making at home. From mini churros to Mickey pretzels, we're sure you'll find your favourite from the list below.

Rice Krispy Treats

Shaped after the legendary mouse's instantly recognisable design, these Rice Krispy treats not only look amazing, they're a crispy, chocolatey combination of indulgent deliciousness too. This recipe, in particular, is great because you can scale the ingredients up to double or triple the amounts if necessary. There are even some notes on how to properly melt the marshmallows as well as some safety tips on how to make the preparation child friendly.

Also, you can easily find Mickey-shaped cutters from Amazon to help give this the Disney seal of approval.

Mini Churros

Sugary, light and crispy, the mini churros served at Disney are impossible to resist and luckily, the Disney parks site has its own version of the recipe. The mixture is a breeze to make and your little ones can help you to measure out and combine, but be careful of the hot oil you need to fry them in if they're around. The only other fiddly bit is using a piping bag to give these churros their distinctive shape, so make sure you have one before starting.

Mickey and Minnie Cookies

These cute little cookies don't just look great, they're super tasty too. And like the iconic characters themselves, they have their distinctive look and personality to boot. The Minnie version uses melted chocolate and coconut oil for a wonderfully decadent flavour, topped off with sprinkles and a dainty bow made from pink icing sugar.

Meanwhile, Mickey's cookie is dipped into melted milk chocolate, with red and yellow sugar paste to recreate his distinctive red trousers. Whether you make one or both of them, you're definitely in for a treat.

Giant cinnamon rolls

Giant Cinnamon Rolls

If you were a frequent visitor to Disneyland in the past, then you may have been dismayed by the news that Starbucks took over the Main Street Bakery back in 2013. As a result, the incredible cinnamon rolls that were served there were discontinued. Luckily,
this recipe seeks to recreate the long lost cinnamon roll that were once available.

They're a little complicated to make compared to some of the other recipes on this list, but they're huge and make eight in total, so we're sure you won't be complaining when you're tucking into them. Plus, our hand and stand mixers can help make things that little bit easier too!

Corn Dogs

Not just a Disneyland favourite, but an all-American fast food staple too. These corn dogs are easy to make and refreeze really well too, so they're great to have as leftovers if you made a lot of them. Great to prepare with little ones, though you may want to keep them away from the hot oil you'll be cooking the corn dogs in. Serve with ketchup and American mustard for that classic 4th of July vibe.

Milkshake

Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake

A total breeze to make, these classic shakes – found at the parks' 50s Prime Time Cafes – recreate an American icon the whole family can enjoy. And if jelly in a milkshake sounds weird, don't worry, that's just what Americans call jam. All you need to do is throw everything in a blender, pour in a glass, and then top with whip cream and a cherry! These are perfect to make using something from our Blend Active range too!

Mickey Pretzels

A great hands-on recipe you can try with the kids, these Mickey-shaped pretzels are fun to make and are super tasty too. And what's more, you probably already have many of the ingredients you need to make these in your kitchen already. Once you've made the dough, why not see who can make the best Mickey shape before they go in the oven?

Sugar Frosted Fruit Bites

Found at the Flurry of Fun at Disney's Hollywood Studios, these sugar-frosted fruit bites are great to make around the holiday season. Filled with delicious dried fruit and a tablespoon of rum, they're a boozy little treat to enjoy in front of a roaring fire. They even make great gifts for your loved ones during the season as well.
