Smart and efficient
This item does the job of a water filter and kettle, which means one less item in the kitchen helping to keep your worktop clutter free. It is quick - a large cup of water in less than a minute and subsequent cups in about 45 secs.
With a tea bag already in the cup a press of the button and very quickly you have a perfect brew. The cup stand removes easily to enable a taller object ie jug or saucepan to be placed underneath.
No more re-boiling water and with the cup size dial you quickly get used to how much water is going to be dispensed which means no waste.
It also looks smart, blue-lit while heating and clean stainless steel lines.

Aftertaste, but useful bit of kit.
As many have mentioned there was a very strong aftertaste for the first few hundred cups, either we've got used to it or it has gone, not sure which.
At first it seemed so quick at producing a cup of boiling water, now we have time to put the cup under, press the button, find the tea bag and put it in the cup. But it's still quicker than filling a kettle. Very handy for making my cuppa first thing in the morning, I can be drinking a cuppa even before the toast has popped up.
We use this for when we are only making one or 2 cups of tea/coffee. For 3 or more we still use a normal kettle.
Cool feature is the Blue LEDs

Easy to use
Brilliant idea all the family love this Breville hot water dispenser it fills one cup at a time saving electricity, my father who is 96 lives with us and has trouble lifting heavy kettles so he is made up with this machine. He just tops it up with a little jug presses the button and it fills his cup with hot water. This product is ideal for elderly people no worrying about scalding themselves.

Do not buy
Ordered this product for a Christmas present for my sister. It arrived very promptly and when opened was lovely to look at. However after a couple of weeks it started leaking profusely from the bottom. I telephoned Tescodirect who kindly exchanged the faulty item for a new one. Unfortunately after 2-3 weeks of working fine the replacement also started leaking from the same place. I have now decided to return the item and have a refund. Although this was great to look at and brilliant whilst working i would not recommend this product and will look for an alternative.

We have a "Hot Cup" in the kitchen, another in the bedroom and have just purchased one for a Wedding present. I guess we must think they are good. It's a pleasure to come in and have a good HOT cup of tea in less than a minute. Same in the morning when we wake up. As a matter of interest the "Filter" model is identical to the non filter model, with the filter funnel added. This funnel is a lift out item, that can be removed if required. Interesting fact as the "Filter version" is sometimes on offer for a lot less money.........

Great kettle replacement
Bought this to replace my kettle at the end of its life. Was a little cautious the water might not be quite hot enough for a decent cup of tea, but absolutely no worries there - you can hear it boil before the water dispenses. Takes a bit of trial & error to get the quantity right, but the stop button provides a good backup if you overestimate. Only caution is don't stand too close to it when the water comes out as it splashes a little, but nothing major. Doesn't take up as much room on the work surface as I expected eithe. Well worth the investment & not missing my kettle at all!

Amazing helping hand!!
I bought this hot water dispenser, the first one I've used, as I have dexterity problems and cannot lift a kettle. Was easy to set up and start. The first time, I thought that it was going to splutter boiling water everywhere,as it has a little "huff" at end of dispensing, but it was just a normal sound of the air lock separating boiled water from reservoir. Beyond that, I have no issues with the machine. Easy to use, even my 9yr old son can now safely make me a cuppa. A big help and great to be able to make a hot drink at home without help. If you have dexterity problems or a disability, worth every penny.

Great looking, energy and time saving, functional kettle...tea has never tasted so good!
Bought this as we were using filtered water to fill our 'ordinary' kettle. Was a bit dubious as to whether we would find the one cup at a time system too much hassle, but it is no bother at all. Looks good, takes seconds to boil and water tastes lovely. Comments about the 'chemical taste' by previous reviewers were a little worrying but we didn't have any nasty tastes at all after following manufacturers instructions to flush the boiler out before use.
If you want a good looking, functional 'kettle' and great tasting water...then this is well worth the money!
