Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breville HOTCUP ♥♥♥ So I'd already purchased the red and blue ones prior, but yet again I saw this on offer, this Breville HOTCUP's not only makes your life much easier making a brew, but it filters the water too ♥ I live is an area where limescale is a serious issue, so yet again i could not resist the bargain and purchased my 3rd Breville HOTCUP :-) Same routine as the others fill with bottled water, or bottled tap water... Which is the easiest way to get water to the machine without any fuss... No need to take the jug off the stand to fill or lift a kettle to pour hot water BONUS I seriously love these machines ♥♥♥ NOTE: Breville don't sell the drip trays as a spare, so don't misplace it ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Years and still going strong I twisted the wife's (girlfriend's at the time) arm when we got our first flat together 5 years ago to get one of these. Mainly because, as a man, it basically meant I could use a gadget every time I made a cuppa. We used it every day then, and we use it every day now, from making a cuppa (which is plenty hot) to making gravy for Sunday lunch. The unit is showing wear on the chrome dial, where we have been turning it for 5 years, but other than that it works perfectly. There are a few downsides however; It can be cumbersome to fill, as it is quite large/heavy. We have a measuring jug we use to fill it. On the odd occasion we have company it can seem like a chore to make 5-6 cups. However, the reality is that you are delivering 2 cups, while another is pouring. The drip tray is arguably too small, it holds drips fine, but if you forget to put a cup under, the tray quickly overflows. I suppose the answer there is not to be a plum and forget the cup? The chrome can be a bit of a paint to keep clean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Unfortunately this one is disappointing. I thought by buying a more expensive product it would be better but alas I was wrong. I find it very heavy compared to my previous one and every time I open the lid to fill it up water runs down the back which in turn is not only annoying but causes marks so I'm constantly cleaning it. Due to the fact it's got the Brita inside it definitely does not hold alot of water so it feels like all I'm ever doing if filling it up and cleaning the water marks off. I'm not old and I don't have any health issues so I dread to think how I would manage if I did have any problems lifting anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its great for drinks I cant believe that people have had an issue with this. So far I have seen people moaning the water takes long time to filter if empty so they suggest use a filter jug instead. And if the filter jug is empty? Cant see you have gained anything. Someone else said it was too heavy to fill from tap. Yes it is heavy, so use a plastic jug. Then you can refill it whilst you wait for it to boil the water for your drink. It does have its drawbacks. It is for making drinks with. A mug is the largest amount. So water for a hot water bottle or to fill a saucepan for cooking can be a bit time consuming. So we have a kettle as well for that. But for just boiling the amount you need for a hot drink its brilliant. No mess. We are in hard water area so need a Brita kettle for drinks. £45 for decent one, £80 for this. Will I save the extra £35 in electricity? Well I drink about 20 cups of coffee a day so probably will.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A gadget that is amazingly useful I am delighted with my Breville Brita hot water dispenser which has saved trying to fill a kettle with enough water for a cup of tea/coffee/soup countless times. BUT: the catch on the lid of the water tank keeps sticking so now I just lift the whole lid off. More annoyingly is the limited capacity of the water tank which only appears partly full when the 'max' indicator is reached. I previously owned a Brita water filter jug and that allowed the top water tank to be filled right to the top so I do not understand why this appliance is difference. I did ask the customer help line, but received a bland answer. So now I fill the water tank up higher, but do not spill water down the back because I am careful. I am recommending my Breville Brita hot water dispenser to family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money saver! I've had a HotCup since 2010 and would never use a kettle again. It saves so much energy by just boiling the one cup of water and, living on my own, that's all I would want to boil. I've just replaced my first one and this time I have the one with the red light which matches my kitchen. Absolutely fabulous and I'd recommend this to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Once again a star product we bought this product to replace one we had had for 4 years. Our daughter had moved out and wanted one so we bought a new one and gave her the one we had had. We live in a very hard water area and this had taken its toll on our Hot Cup. Even with the Brita filter, it was furring up. Love having a new one xx
